Summer School 2020 Postponed
30th March 2020
An important message from the Director of the Summer School:
This is an announcement I hoped I would never have to write. We had hoped against hope that the Covid-19 pandemic would be over quickly, but sadly this is not the case.
In the light this, we have had to take the disappointing decision to postpone this year’s Summer School. It is not a decision we take lightly, and we are very sorry to do so. However, since it is affecting travel plans and in the interest of everyone’s safety, we felt we had no choice. Even if the pandemic is more under control in the summer, it is looking increasingly unlikely that an event of our size would be allowed to take place.
The good news is Merton College have agreed to postpone our dates, and we are now looking at August 15-18, 2021. The topic, Animals and Public Policy, will remain the same.
The Call for Papers is closed and we have a full programme of speakers. There is a waiting list for speakers, please email depdirector@oxfordanimalethics.com for more information. As speakers confirm their availability for August 2021, we will post the provisional programme here.
Book for the Summer School 2021 remains open. Our booking form is here.
I am personally very disappointed not to be seeing you all this year, but I hope August 2021 will be possible for you.
Every good wish
Clair
